Could have taken the Kruul Warrior to stay open to either Gruul or Golgari, but I think the Druid is good enough to make the commitment to Gruul. I think I messed up here though. I was reading that Gruul was possibly open from my right, since I saw Mossdog/War Chant - Krassis/Maaka - Druid/Gruul Gate.

But since Gruul is pack 2, it's probably more important to me to realize that I have already passed Druid, War Chant, Maaka, and then Gruul Gate from this pack, so I won't get much Gruul in pack 2. I probably should have just take Kruul here and stayed open to go G/anything but red.

Here, if I've stayed open to be G/something, I figure I would take the Spectacle and try to be mainly G/B. Took the Fire although I have no clue how good it actually is, and it didn't make my deck (but that is b/c my deck ended up a lot different than I had hoped). Is 5 Alarm actually good in an aggro deck?

There seem to be a lot of Dimir cards coming around, and I've seen that happen in 2 irl drafts that I've done also. I wonder if there are less good Dimir cards in pack 1 than in other guilds?

I debated Hellhole vs Corpsejack for a while. I think Price was out, b/c I just needed more guys. In retrospect, I think I should have taken the Corpsejack, since I had 2 mossdogs and 2 bursts. This was just stupid.

This ended up being quite a brew. I don't think I had enough early guys to play either Ember Beast or 5-alarm, so 4cG ramp it is.


I was able to "sculpt" this board state in r1g1.
